Music On Only A GameNotre Dame Victory March by the USC Trojan Marching Band (from Fight Songs, Delta, 1989)

Is this just a football song? Do they use this at Notre Dame basketball games, too?

A Horse With No Name by King’s Singers (from Keep On Changing, OOP)

I don’t know much about the King’s Singers, but I do know that the band that came up with this doozy of a song, America, was the bane of my early ’70’s existence. Even the great George Martin couldn’t rescue them from being the most annoying band this side of Seals and Crofts.

It’s Opening Day by Esther Haynes & the Swingin’ Dingers (from Diamond Cuts: Top of the Sixth, Hungry for Music, 2003)

But is it really Opening Day? Really? Have you checked with our friends in Japan?

Cissy Strut by The Meters (from Funkify Your Life, Rhino, 1995)

Funkify my life? I’ve tried that already. It didn’t work.

Don’t Drag No More by Susan Lynn (from Surf Bunnies and Hot Rod Honeys, Phantom Sound and Vision, 1996)

I can’t drag, anyway. I have not time to, because I’ve funkified my life.
