Music from Only A Game

Gladiator Theme by Hans Zimmer (from Gladiator Soundtrack, Decca, 2000)

Gee, and I thought I had the Spartacus soundtrack. Drat.

The Afro-Cuban Jazz Suite by Machito and His Orchestra (from Original Mambo Kings, Polygram, 1993)

I personally prefer the Derivative and Unimaginative Mambo Kings.

Naked by Falco (from Naked 12″ single, EMI, 1996)

Another touching ballad of life, love and loss from the man who brought you “Der Kommissar”, “Rock Me Amadeus” and “Munich Girls”.

El Fego Baca Theme (from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QyMq63qejM)

This one courtesy of The Encyclopedia of Schlocky 1950′s Cowboy Songs…other wise known as “Bill Littlefield”.

Yes, it’s true. I remember the t.v. show that used that Elfego Baca song. The t.v. on which I watched the show was black and white. I ate those sticky squares made of rice crispies while I watched it. Earlier in the day, my friends and I had run through the clouds of insect repellant that the guys sprayed out of the trucks that rumbled through our neighborhood. I walked to school through six feet of snow, too, and it was uphill both ways. Good times.
