The Claw by Dave Edmunds (from Plugged In, Pyramid, 1994)

The Claw is fickle, my friends. Ask any space alien who worked the first two Toy Story movies. They weren’t even asked back for Toy Story 3, which was a shame, really.

Silent Night by The Mormon Tabernacle Choir (from Spirit of the Season, 2007)

Sounds pretty un-silent to me. Again, with the truth-in-advertising thing.

Take Off That Mask by The Zambonis (from 100% Hockey…and Other Stuff, Tarquin Records, 1995)

Hockey and psychology all rolled into one. From the master rinksman/songsters, for whom I have almost limitless admiration.

Christmas in the Trenches by John McCutcheon (from Winter Solstice, Rounder, 1985)

A good way to say goodbye to 2010 and to welcome 2011.

Well, perhaps they had to pick up the pace for Toy Story3, but blast from the past being said, wouldn’t H-wood been better off with:
    1. Love Sculpture (aka Dave Edmunds) Sabre Dance-Let’s Face it, any child trembling at the movie’s near ending in a trash firepit (replacing the ‘Claw’ as child-play nightmare) ought to have a fast pace music track before being saved by ?(won’t reveal spoiler).
    2. Silent Tights by Slave Driver-Put A metal goth in your heart!
3.Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk-Fink Ployd(SP)-baffling background shrieking definitely in the mind of any hockey player or fan (post-bruising cruising).
    4. Xmas in Capetown-my kid said Randy Newman’s dead (saw Paul Newman’s products in the market)…now more than evah, we need the double entendre “Honey, if you don’t like it, why don’t you go back to your own miserable little country”. God Bless Mr. Waleik and only a game (int’l distribution pending)!
