This week on Only A Game, our 16th Annual installment of gridiron, er, poetry. Also, a big game preview, and bringing together bikes and beer in Boston.
Bikes and Beer
281 cyclists participated in last weekend’s Harpoon Indoor Time Trial, a stationary bike race that simulates an eight-mile course. Only A Game’s Doug Tribou visited the Harpoon Brewery in South Boston to take in the event. Listen to Doug’s report and check out the photos he took during the races.
Game Time…Finally
It’s been a long two-week break between the NFL’s Conference Championships and the Super Bowl, and Bill Littlefield has grown tired of waiting. He shares his thoughts on the buildup to the big game, and recalls a few forgettable interviews from media week.

Tebow et al
As Super Bowl Sunday nears, there has been a lot of discussion of a commercial scheduled to air on that commercial day of days. The ad features Heisman Trophy-winning, University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow and his mother, and it is sponsored by Focus on the Family, an organization that opposes abortion. Objections to the commercial notwithstanding, commentator Bill Littlefield is not convinced that it is likely to constitute anything new.
Dungeons, Dragons, & an Old "Skeleton"
Could osteoperosis be a factor in skeleton at the upcoming Winter Olympics? Probably not, but Japan is still sending a 45-year-old athlete to compete. Also, a prisoner seems to miss the irony in arguing that he should be allowed to play “Dungeons and Dragons.”
